This past week was CS Ed Week and we interacted with different websites that pertained to the general topic of computer science. During the week, I was worked on EarSketch. EarSketch is a free educational programming environment where it teaches the user how to code in two widely used programming languages, Python and JavaScript, through music composing and remixing. The website can be a bit tricky to use for the first time, but it gets easier as the user goes through the tutorials and after testing out all the buttons.
I really enjoyed EarSketch because it allowed me to push through my comfort zone a little bit. I was primarily used to coding and programming on Code.org, but EarSketch was a complete change of environment. I worked with one of my classmates on a design, particularly because we were both new to the this type of programming. In the end, I really enjoyed using this unique method of coding, which made CS Ed Week a success.
